Mr. Dolphus seems like he is always drunk, but he actually isn't. In the book, Dill needs a drink of something and Mr. Dolphus offers. "Scout, it's nothings but Coca-Cola." Instead of drinking himself silly, he pretends to be drunk so the other people of the town don't judge him for where he lives. Mr. Dolpus is a good person, the townsfolk just don't see it.
